Our Approach

A different approach

We provide “integrated solutions”….Our background in rehabilitation and health ensures that we have a great deal of expertise in the area of ‘reintegration’, in other words, helping people return to work in a graded and manageable way. We work closely with managers and find this to be of great benefit to both the individual and organisation.

We will develop bespoke solutions to meet your organisations needs, our previous solutions have taken the shape of educational seminars, stress surgery’s in particular hotspots, toolkits and pamphlets, managers trainings, stress reduction programmes, individual resilience building and setting up in-house trauma mediation services, to name just a few. We enjoy the challenge of meeting your needs with our creativity and expert knowledge.

We offer flexibility as we can deliver the solutions ourselves using our expert resources or if you have in-house occupational health or preferred suppliers we can train your current provider to deliver the intervention provided they have the appropriate skills. By doing this you can ensure the knowledge and skills you pay for are embedded your organisation making this an even more cost effective solution.

We won’t leave you to struggle without support. Once we have a relationship with you and your staff we like to keep in touch, particularly if running programmes is involved. We do this through supervision and check ins using a dedicated email address, teleconferences and regular visits. This ensures that adjustments and updates can be made and makes the solution one that adapts to your changing needs. This aspect of our work has been experienced as invaluable by clients. This way our solutions not only address problems already arisen but also allow you to prevent problems re-occurring.

Turner stress reduction programme assessment and measurable benefit

Pre Programme Suitability Assessment
We respond to referral with telephone contact from a psychologist. The potential participants answer a standardised stress assessment with additional questions taken from the Beck depression scale to screen for medium to chronic depression and a drug and alcohol question to screen for safety issues.

Participants receive an information pack which includes a Work Place Stress Scale which participants were asked to fill in and bring to the first group.

This procedure results in self selection, with the group generally being made up from those in the latter stages of change. In other words, they are at the point where they were willing to do something about their situation. Those in the earlier stages of change (can see the problem but are unable to relate issues back to themselves or take action), did not respond to the phone calls or failed to turn up.

Post Course Evaluations
At the end of the programme participants repeat both the Stress Scale and the Work Place Stress questionnaire, in addition they are given a questionnaire about their experience in terms of changes in lifestyle habits and relationships. These are done in the 6th session to ensure complete results. The psychologist then analyses the data.

Pre and post course absence tracking
We work with clients to set up a system to monitor participants absence rates 6 months pre group and 6 months post group. We can then analysis the data, costing absence improvement, finding averages and looking at overall savings to the organisation
